Query tables allow you to ask for a bunch of data and either view or assert against it.

A bunch of assertions:

company numberemployee numberfirst namelast namehire date
48081471429StephenStarkeyExpected '1975-10-10' but got '1974-10-10'
Expected '4808147' but got '5123122'Expected '9942' but got '8832'Expected 'Alice' but got 'Lisa'Expected 'Mitchell' but got 'Smith'Expected '1966-12-19' but got '1979-12-15'
(query:employees-hired before=1980-12-10)

A bunch of empty cells to be filled in:

employee numberfirst namelast namehire date
1429StephenStarkey1974-10-10
8832LisaSmith1979-12-15
(query:employees-hired before=1980-12-10)

And without any arguments at all:

employee numberfirst namelast namehire date
9942AliceMitchell1981-01-05
1429StephenStarkey1974-10-10
8832LisaSmith1979-12-15
(query:employees-hired)

There is a bit more to do on this table type, but the basics are here. If you want to see what more is coming, visit its SLIM Analog.

For now, we intend not to allow for unordered or subset query results. If those end up being useful, we can bring them in later.
